The History of Breakout
It’s 1976, the Bicentennial Year, and the 4th of July was one of the biggest celebrations I’d ever seen as a kid. Gerald Ford is President of the United States and giving the team at Saturday Night Live plenty of material. I’m working part-time for 75 cents an hour, and I’m a sophomore in high school. It’s also the year that Atari released the video arcade hit Breakout, one of the best games of its time. Life just got a whole lot better.
